Organization Obsession

I am definitely obsessed with organization and cleaning. I pin ideas on Pinterest, I read countless blogs, I make never-ending lists, and I spend a lot of energy cleaning and organizing. My house is never clean enough for me. I would love a day to myself (no baby and no husband) to clean and organize our home.

I also have several projects that I would like to work on this summer. I know I won't be able to conquer them all, but I would at least like to complete a few. Here's my list:

Kitchen:
1. Finish painting the kitchen - it needs a second coat
2. Hang up my quilted calendar and a clock in the kitchen
3. Re-organize the kitchen cupboards and dedicate one cupboard and one drawer for baby/toddler items

Spare Bedroom:
I would like to turn this space into a relaxing office space for when I return to work in March. It would be ideal for a bright work space where I can do marking, planning and report cards. It will eventually become a bedroom for our second child a few years down the road, so I will make sure that it can be easily transformed when the time comes.

1. Paint it a neutral, calming colour
2. Install some functional but pretty shelving in the closet
3. Update the furniture and the window covering

Master Bedroom
1. Remove the wallpaper trim and re-paint this room
2. Purchase new bedding
3. Re-organize the closet and purge some pre-pregnancy clothes that are outdated or definitely won't fit ever again

My Wish List:
  • New windows
  • New interior doors
  • New carpeting in the basement
  • Complete kitchen update - counters, maybe paint the cupboards instead of replacing them
  • Update the main floor bathroom

These projects will obviously take a LONG time and a good deal of money to complete, but a girl can dream, right?

A New Blog

I have restarted my blog now for the second time. It's super bare-bones right now, but I hope to improve the visual appeal and content in the future. I titled it "A Year at Home" because I am in the 5th month of my maternity leave from my teaching job. This blog will share some of my experiences as a new mom and later as a teacher.

Here is a picture of my little man - he's 4 months old! I can't believe it!
